The representatives of the business community and the public sector institutions - ministers of finance, trade, economy, and directors of taxation and customs administrations from 7 regional economies, gathered on April 28th in Sarajevo at the first regional conference titled Combating Shadow Economy: A Necessity for Investments in South East Europe.

Organized by the American Chamber of Commerce and Foreign Investors Council BiH an open forum covering the topic "The system of collection and taxation of services for protection of intellectual property, digital contents, and telecommunication services in Bosnia and Herzegovina €ť was held in Banja Luka, on Wednesday, April 1st 2015, with the aim of starting a dialogue on the problems faced by businesses in the ICT (Information Communication Technology) field and the protection of intellectual property rights.

The Law on Amendments to the Law on the Policy of FDI in Bosnia and Herzegovina have been published on March 16, 2015 in the Official Gazette of BiH 22/15. In consultations to amend this Law were involved the representatives of the Foreign Investors Council BiH.

The meeting was organized by FIC BiH with strong support of EU Delegation in BiH aiming better regulations in fuel and liquid fuels sector. Since our country is on SAA path we would like to emphasize importance of reforming specific sectors. Representatives of entitled ministries for this issue as well as inspectorates were discussing with companies implementation of laws from the field.

The common conclusion on yesterday's meeting is that ITA and business associations in BiH will work together on solving this issue. It will further consider the possibility that the company (exporter) may incorporate only those types of goods that are produced in BiH and exported outside BiH , and that its appearance and the way of packaging clearly identifiable in the simplified customs procedures at border crossing.

FIC representatives / company members discussed with City Banja Luka representatives problems arise for investors when apply for permits. Even though city of Banja Luka improved permitting system still there are issues when it comes to implementation and coordination of administration.

Prospects and potentials for attracting new development and existing foreign investment, and the problems and difficulties that foreign investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina encountered were the topics at the meeting with Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton Bahrija Umihanić and representatives of the Foreign Investors Council BiH - FIC, representatives of the USAID and City of Tuzla.

The Foreign Investors Council announced changes in its management, triggered by promotion of FIC officials within their companies. Association has the new leader and changed representation in the Board of Directors. At the same time, FIC will continue to pursue the same policy of advocating for simplified and more favourable business conditions.

The FIC BoD members, Ms. Mubera Brkovic and Mr. Libor Krkoska and FIC executive director Bojana Škrobić Omerović, today met with Minister Trhulj in order to discuss Legislation regarding the PPP and Energy Efficiency projects in FBiH.
