Cement factory Kakanj hosted Austrian entrepreneurs

On Thursday, 21 April 2016, representatives of Austrian companies led by Sigmund Nemeti, commercial counselor at the Austrian Embassy in BiH, visited the Kakanj Cement plant. On that occasion Izudin Neimarlija, executive director of the Kakanj Cement plant for production and technical issues, presented all the main business activities of the Cement Factory Kakanj taken from privatization till now.

Minister of Economy met with the Executive Director of the Foreign Investment Council (FIC)

Ministar privrede Kantona Sarajevo Muharem Šabić razgovarao je danas sa izvršnom direktoricom Vijeća stranih investitora (VSI) Sanjom Miovčić o saradnji u organizovanju 'Međunarodnog poslovnog foruma 2016 €ť koji će se održati sredinom septembra 2016. godine u Sarajevu. Minster Šarović visited FIPA

Sarajevo, 19 February 2016 - The Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Šarović and his associates had a meeting with the management of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH (FIPA) led by the Director Gordan Milinić and members of the Steering Board of the Agency.

The meeting discussed the future cooperation between the Ministry and the FIPA in creating a favourable business environment to attract foreign investment.

First Steps towards Establishing Communication between Government and NGO Representatives in FBiH

The organizer of the Round Table was the Government of the Federation of BiH and civil society organizations also participated, whose work was directed on the social and economic issues. The intention of the Government of FBiH was to thus improve an open and continuous dialogue for the purpose of exchanging experiences and ideas for possible solutions. The Round Table was organized as the first in a series of consultative events of the governmental and the non-governmental sector within the realization of the Reform Agenda.

EBRD launched Transition Report 2015-16: Rebalancing Finance

Sarajevo, 11 February 2016 - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development launched its Transition Report 2015-16 'Rebalancing Finance €ť in Sarajevo. The Report outlines some of the key developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina over the past year and discusses the transition challenges ahead - for BiH and for the wider region.

During the event two of the Report`s editors, Peter Sanfey (Deputy Director for Country Economics and Policy) and Alexander Plekhanov (Lead Economist) presented an overview of the main findings of the Report , and Tamir Mostarac, Principal Banker, EBRD Bosnia and Herzegovina, presented an overview of the Bank`s investment results and wider strategy in the country.

New Executive Director of the FIC in BiH appointed

Sarajevo, 4. january 2016. godine - At its last session in 2015, the FIC Board of Directors appointed a new Executive Director, Sanja Miovčić.

Sanja Miovčić took office on 1st January 2016, taking over the position of the long-standing Executive Director Ms. Bojana Škrobić-Omerović. She has more then 15 years of professional experience in numerous international companies and organizations. Before joining the FIC she worked as a Business Development & Marketing Coordinator at the respectable Austrian consulting company Wolf Theiss.

The first ‘FIC Business Barometer’ presented

Sarajevo, 17 december 2015 - In HUB 387 (Bosmal City Center) in Sarajevo was presented the first report "FIC Business Barometer".

'FIC Business Barometer €ť report is a milestone activity of the Foreign Investors Council of BiH (FIC BiH) implemented in cooperation with the Growth-Oriented Local Development (GOLD) Project, which is funded jointly by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
