HeidelbergCement is one of the largest manufacturers of construction materials in the world. By acquisition of italian manufacturer Italcementija, HeidelbergCement has become the number one in the production of Aggregates, number 2 in production of cement and number 3 in the production of ready-mixed concrete. Both companies complement perfectly; on the one hand because of a very similar production areas and organizational structure, and on the other hand because of different geographical position without much overlap. Our main activity is the production and distribution of cement and aggregates, the two basic raw materials for the production of concrete. Our offer is complemented by the production of ready-mix concrete, concrete products and concrete elements, while in some countries we produce asphalt and other construction products. In addition, HeidelbergCement offers services such as maritime cement and coal trade in the world. Cement production is by its nature a major consumer of raw materials and energy. For this reason, our long-term success is built on practices of sustainable development, including providing access to reserves of raw materials, effective and innovative production processes, development of new products and the use of alternative raw materials and fuels. HeidelbergCement is also active in promoting biodiversity at its sites to obtain raw materials.

HeidelbergCement in Bosnia and Herzegovina

HeidelbergCement is present in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2000, when it bought a majority stake in Cement factory Kakanj d.d. Kakanj and entered the market of transport concrete. Our activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina are conducted through the company Cement factory Kakanj d.d. Kakanj. Production and sales of various types of ready-mix concrete performs company TBG BH d.o.o., which is a wholly-owned by Cement factory Kakanj. Cement factory Kakanj has expanded its business to neighbouring Croatian, where owns the company TBG Beton Ltd. and the Danube-Drava Cement d.o.o. and in this way is placing high-quality Kakanj cement on the Croatian market.
