Business Barometer is a milestone activity of the FIC implemented in cooperation with our partners. The first edition of the “FIC Business Barometer” report was published in 2015, supported by the Local Growth-Oriented Local Development (GOLD) Project, which is funded jointly by the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). The second edition of the report was published in 2018 with the support of the MarketMakers Project, which is a part of the Swiss Government’s contribution to the transition of BiH towards a socially inclusive market economy.

 

Business Barometer is the result of a survey among foreign investors in BiH (FIC members) that aims at gaining better insight into the level of satisfaction of FIC members with the business environment in BiH, theobstacles faced by the investors, their plans for reinvesting and creating more employment opportunities in BiH.

This survey resulted in aggregated FIC membership statistics, which was collected and subsequently presented. The survey results will be used to to improve the investors’ position and their requests towards BiH institutions, with the aim of improving the regulatory framework, the efficiency of state administration and political decisions, for the purpose of strengthening the position of the current investments and encouraging new ones. The analysis results should influence the creation of more favourable and business climate for existing foreign investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order for them to reinvest, expand their operations, hire a new workforce, and reduce unemployment.
