Yesterday, a volunteer action was
held in Sarajevo, organized by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Italian Embassy in BiH, the Mountaineering Ski Association ‘Center’ Sarajevo, Mountaineering and Ecological Association ‘Romania’ Pale, and Terra Dinarica Association from Sarajevo.
Among the numerous volunteers, representatives of the Foreign Investors Council in BiH also took part in this action at the invitation of the Terra Dinarica Association.
This activity was carried out in order to promote the Via Dinarica project, which aims to establish the
Via Dinarica mountain corridor as a community-owned tourist product that will
support rural development and general tourism in nature and in the current
circumstances caused by COVID-19.
This project also aims to connect cities and
rural communities in the region, raise awareness of good practice and
environmental protection and develop a tourist offer based on unique natural
beauties, traditional products and cultural and historical heritage.
The Italian Ambassador to BiH,
Nicola Minasi, also took part in the action of cleaning and marking the path on
the Via Dinarica corridor, pointing out:
“With
this action, we want to show that love for nature and care for the preservation
of natural wealth is something very valuable and something in which we can all
participate. Here we have two mountaineering societies, from both entities in
Bosnia and Herzegovina, which regularly cooperate in their activities and work
together to preserve nature. They include many young people in their volunteer
actions, which is certainly an added value to such beautiful events. Let’s stay
responsible, love nature and protect it! €ť.
