The FBiH Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the RS Chamber of Commerce, upon the initiative of a many BiH companies, has begun the process of harmonizing positions and creating a new BiH Law on Public Procurement.
The goal of this initiative is to eliminate numerous shortcomings in the public procurement system and to fulfill the obligations that BiH has undertaken on the path of European integration. Experts from BiH and the region worked on the preparation of the Law draft version, bearing in mind the improvement of the public procurement system, the provisions of staff training and the full digitalization of the public procurement process in BiH.
On that occasion, the representatives of the Foreign Investors Council in BiH participated in the public consultations regarding the drafting of the new Law on Public Procurement of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which were held online on November 5, 2020.
In addition to representatives of the real sector, Chambers of Commerce held consultative meetings with domestic relevant institutions and international community in BiH, such as GIZ (German Society for International Cooperation), US Embassy and EU Delegation to BiH, in order to reconcile all views regarding a new Law and get full support.
At the consultations, experts from BiH who worked on the new Law on Public Procurement of BiH, Hajrudin Buza (BH Post), Tarik Rahić (BH Telecom), Siniša Tešanović (Municipality of Prnjavor), Dragan Vukajlović (Procurement Review Body) and Stipo Petričević (Procurement Review Body), presented a new Law to all participants and invited all interested parties to submit their comments and suggestions.
