Eastern Mining d.o.o is a Bosnian-Herzegovinian exploration and development company, owned by Adriatic Metals from Great Britain. The primary goal of the company is focused on the exploring and exploitation of mineral resources in Vareš municipality. The given goal has potential not only for company growth but also significant potential for development and advancement of Vareš municipality, Zenica-Doboj Canton, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The activities of the company were intensified in 2017. Since then, exclusively from funds of the founders, over 30 milion convertible marks were invested in the project.

Eastern Mining is a concessioner for the exploration and exploitation of metal deposits of Veovača, an old mine, and Rupice deposits. The two locations are 12km apart, with all the needed existing infrastructure and in close proximity to the city of Vareš. Drafted and budgeted exploration programmes include drilling and testing, modeling resources, mining studies, as well as administration of exploratory-exploitative fields, general management and geological services. Since 2018, Eastern Mining has finished over 30,000 meters of exploratory drilling, expanding the known field of mineralisation, and defining some of the best quality polymetal alloys at a global scale. In cooperation with contractors and consultants, Eastern Mining currently employs around 100 people, and works with around 200 suppliers in B&H. The company has so far obtained over 50 different compliances and permits.

The focus for activities in 2020 will be on further geological exploration, on existing concession as well as on a wider regional area, with the aim of expanding the confirmed reserves of minerals and expanding the life cycle of the new mine. According to the current plan, the opening of the mine and the beginning of production is set for 2022. The new operation will process 800,000 tonnes of minerals a year, and produce three types of concentrate which will be sent for further processing outside of B&H.

Understanding the importance of social responsibility, along with a successful partnership with the Faculty of Mining,  Geology and Civil Engineering and the Institute of the University of Zenica, Eastern Mining supports many sport and cultural events, activities and clubs, as well as individuals and institutions which contribute to the culture and potential of their community and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
