Over 150 years of tradition, Carmeuse is a leading manufacturer of limestone with a high content of calcium and dolomite quarry stone, limestone and crushed limestone aggregate products that are a vital part of the major economic sectors (in the steel industry, the energy sector, environmental protection and construction). “Lime factory Carmeuse” enterprise for the production, processing and marketing of lime and “Mine limestone Carmeuse” enterprise for the production, processing and marketing of limestone are settled in Ševarlije, 7 kilometres away from the town of Doboj – BiH. These companies in 70”s operated under the name “Limestone mine and lime factory” . The real turning point in the business development of the company occurred in 2008 when the company became part of the Carmeuse Group, world famous and recognized leader in the delivery of all types of products made of limestone and lime. Investments in production capacity, mines and factories are constantly in progress, with the aim of increasing production of lime and limestone.

Thanks to these investments Lime factory Carmeuse and Mine limestone Carmeuse strengthened its leading position in the production of lime and limestone in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and beyond. Today, both companies have great importance on a local and regional level, and as a proof of successful business enterprises “Lime factory Carmeuse” in 2009 is rewarded and recognized as the most successful “joint venture” in Bosnia and Herzegovina by the FIPA. Special attention is paid to environmental protection and safety at work. We have adopted and apply European standards of quality, and have the ISO certification 9001: 2008 and 14001: 2004.
