On 11 May 2016, the Municipal Assembly of Petrovo issued a positive opinion to a company Messer BH Gas Sarajevo, a subsidiary Sockovac, on the initiation of the procedure for granting concession for exploration of CO2, gas and thermal mineral water at the site Ciguse-Bare in Sockovac in a municipality Petrovo.

It was stressed that the positive opinion was given under the condition that the future exploitation does not impede existing concessionaires, and that the two exploitation fields establish monitoring to avoid re-pumping reservoirs of CO2 and thermal mineral water between the two companies.

– It has been four years since the construction of our CO2 plant in Sočkovac that works extremely well as shown by the fact that we sell everything we produce. Complete production annual capacity of the factory that amounts to 7200 tonnes is sold out each year. It is the best example of excellent cooperation between local communities and investors. In order to further develop our production capacity it is necessary to carry out new studies of particular localities of CO2 and thermo-mineral waters. This is why we have submitted an application for the concession for the site Ciguse-Bare in the municipality Petrovo and the Municipal Assembly granted us a consent. We will continue to act as before in accordance with the relevant legal regulations and I hope that we will get positive findings, said after receiving the consent CEO of Messer BH Gas, Mr. Valentin Ilievski.

Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska requested opinion from the Municipality Petrovo with regard to the submitted request of Messer BH Gas Sarajevo to initiate the procedure for granting concession.
