The Executive Director of FIC,
Sanja Miovcic, met with Mr. Nedim Hamzić, the new Secretary General of the
American Chamber of Commerce in BiH (AmCham BiH), a non-governmental
organization and part of the European and global network of AmChams, whose task
is to establish a platform to develop business opportunities and promote high
standards of business practice and strengthen partnerships between the business
community and BiH government bodies at all levels.
The topics of the meeting were
the presentation of new internal changes and the newly elected management of
AmCham BiH and the strengthening of the current cooperation of these two
organizations. The new Secretary General informed the Executive Director of the
FIC that Mr. Karlheinz Dobnigg, CEO of Raiffeisen Bank BiH, has been elected as
a new President of AmCham BiH. Beside Dobnigg, representatives of the following
companies have been appointed to the new Board of Directors of AmCham: Authority
Partners, Oracle BH, Erkon, Comtrade Systems Integration, Logosoft, Telemach,
Expres Courirer – ASC for UPS and Ernest & Young. Mr. Hamzić added that
AmCham BiH has undergone certain internal changes in the structure and
organization in the past period.
In
addition to the refreshed and redefined mission and vision of AmCham BiH as
well as the new strategic approach in the work, it was pointed out that this
organization in its future work plan will focus on strengthening cooperation
with FIC BiH, especially considering that some of the most successful companies
are the members of both organizations. Both representatives concluded that
future joint activities should be focused on the specific needs of their
members. It was agreed that the next activities will be on establishing
cooperation between AmCham’ expert committees and FIC’ Working groups through
the organization of seminars and professional lectures as well as daily
exchange of information related to commercial operations and investment opportunities.
