‘Think today for a better tomorrow”
About 40 children from kindergarten “Mladost” in Kakanj visited the Kakanj Cement plant and together with kindergarten collective clebrate World Environment Day, and together planted ten new trees on the lawn next to the new clinker silo. Visitors had the opportunity to enjoy and learn something during short plays by kindergarten kids specially prepared for the occasion about the importance of recycling and the importance of preserving the environment.
“This is just one in a series of activities that strive to improve our environment, and raise our awareness of the importance of environmental protection and preservation of the planet,” said Izudin Neimarlija, executive director of the TCK for production and technical issues. “Today workers of the TCK planted these trees with our youngest citizens, which is a symbol of joint efforts to make our factory and our city beautiful and better place of living. These trees that we plant today is not only a symbol of investment in environmental protection, but also a symbol of long-term and genuine partnership with our community”.
He added that the environment is fully integrated into the business of TCK, including all aspects of air, soil and water protection, and pointed out that the TCK among the leading companies in BiH in the field of investments in sustainable development. After many years of investment in equipment and knowledge, the impact of the plant on the environment is reduced to the greatest possible minimum.
