Business Barometer

"FIC Business Barometer" is a milestone activity of the Foreign Investors Council of BiH implemented in cooperation with the Growth-Oriented Local Development (GOLD) project, which is funded jointly by the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

The research aims at gaining better insight into the level of satisfaction of the members of the Foreign Investors Council with business environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the obstacles faced by the investors, their plans for reinvesting and creating more employment opportunities in BiH.

Collected information will be used to improve an overall business environment, the regulatory framework, the efficiency of the state administration, with the aim of attracting new investments.

The analysis is intended for the Foreign Investors Council in BiH and the USAID/Sida GOLD project in order for the most important messages of the foreign investors to be presented to authority representatives. The analysis results should influence the creation of more favourable and business climate for existing foreign investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order for them to reinvest, expand their operations, hire a new workforce, and reduce unemployment.

Based on the results of this research which have been reached by summarising, processing, and analysing the date collected from the questionnaires, the most important conclusions relate to the assessment of the BiH business climate by investors, and the role of state, entity, and local administrative units in facilitating or preventing foreign investments.
